New Orleans floral designer Margaret Ludwig of Giverny Design creates a monochromatic arrangement in the French style using variations of green that speak to winter’s darker shades and spring’s new growth.
“Free, loose, colorful, happy” are words that Julie Silvers uses to describe her art. While angst is a common theme in art, Silvers’ works articulate the uncontainable positivity and exuberance that reside in her soul.
Growing up, Silvers says her doodles and sketches were often of the female form, which inspired the Rubenesque, sensuous female sculptures — her “Silver Nudes” — that have become her most iconic pieces.

“I said, ‘If I’m raising a fraternity or basketball team or whatever we’re having here, then I’m going to pretty much do what I want with this pink situation,” she recalls. “My husband was like, ‘Have at it!’”
